![]() ![]() We all seem to be using a gadget to aerate wine into a glass, but what happens if the glass itself is the aerator? This unique design by Dillon Burroughs sees to that, incorporating unique dimensions within the build of the glass to create a perfect aeration for the wine. The ‘Experiential’ Wine Aerator Fountain Aerating Wine Glasses Plus, the hand-crafted decanter is beautiful enough to use solo. The polymer filter built into the top of the decanter acts as an aerator and purifier to break down excess sulfites and to open up the wine through its oxidation process. Üllo is somewhat of a hybrid between a wine decanter and an aerator with its unique selling point being a built in sulfite reducer to allow wines to reach an optimum level of freshness. Either way, it’s a cool concept and something no one else has thought of to date. For the most technology-crazed amongst us it’s quite the aerating device-the only limitation is that as of right now, there are not a tremendous amount of wines available to use. It will also keep the wines completely fresh given the way they’re packaged-and when you’re tired of drinking the same one, you just put it back on your wine rack and slot another. Somm is an aerating wine dispenser that will automatically adjust the aeration and temperature for the wines it houses. My next choice will have the skeptics raising an eyebrow, but if we take a step back and look at wine exploration in general (merging the boundaries of technology and wine to get more people interested), for the right people, this is a brilliant idea. The Technologically Savvy Wine Aerator Somm Each one is slick, sexy, and modern in design, making for the perfect device if you’re looking to save the pennies but go with a well-respected brand. In total, they boast a selection of five premium wine aerators (The Pourer, Super Aerator, Rabbit Aerator, Houdini Pourer, and Houdini on Glass Aerator). Much like Vinturi, Rabbit was one of the first wine aerator brands on the scene and is one of the most recognized in the space. Their core base is built up of three aerators: Red wine, reserve red wine (for the older vintages), and white wine (believe it or not, some white wines can be aerated). ![]() The sheer number of copycat replicas on the market can create some uncertainty (given they all look alike), but rest assured: If the product is on their official website, it’s genuine. They were one of the first companies to make their mark in the aeration space and have created a high quality product. Simply put, Vinturi is the ‘Godfather’ of wine aeration. In terms of practicality, it makes a significant difference in terms of aeration when opening up those wines that need a little kickstart to reach their peak. Its small size and compact case allow it to be transported with ease, while the tri-spout pourer/aerating system produces the most stunning pour I’ve witnessed from an aerator. In my mind, it hits three tick boxes: Practicality, aesthetics, and quality. TRIbella is without question one of the most unique wine aerators on the market. In case you need a crash course on what aeration is in the first place, check out my explanation here. ![]()
